How the 1-Second Challenge Progresses
Each round begins with a 1-second preview. It is deliberately brief: the opening beat, a distinctive instrument, or the first word of a vocal can be enough when you know a song well. Enter the song title as soon as you recognize it. An early correct answer is the most satisfying way to complete a round.
If the first clip is not enough, the challenge gives you more time on the next attempt. Previews progress through 1, 3, 5, 8, 12, and 17 seconds, so every extra chance reveals more of the arrangement. You can make a guess when you are ready or skip ahead for a longer clue. The goal is not only to know the song, but to recognize it with as little audio as possible.
